Out and about . . . . .

For those fortunate enough to have plenty of time to spend at Whitepark Bay, here are some ´things to do´ in the local area apart from reading and drinking tea, with a guess at the times involved .....

- Walk the beach at Whitepark Bay ..... look for fossils and take photos ..... allow 3 hours.

- Walk the 8 mile cliff path to the Giant´s Causeway ..... one of the great walks of Ireland ..... allow a minimum of 4 hours one way, bus home.

- Visit the Giant´s Causeway only ..... allow 2 hours for the round trip and photos.

- Visit the Dark Hedges.    This beautiful avenue of beech trees was planted by the Stuart family in the eighteenth century.

- Visit Carrick-a-Rede rope bridge (Feb to Oct). 30 minute walk from the car park and back ..... if you survive !

- Visit the ´Old Bushmills Distillery´ ..... allow 90 minutes for the tour ..... taxi home ?

- Dunluce Castle ..... stop for a photo ..... or visit for 90 minutes.

- Rathlin Island ..... all day visit, especially in June/July/August to see the sea-birds.

- Glens of Antrim ..... 3 hours circular drive through Murlough Bay and Glendun ..... plus an optional 2 hour walk at Glenariff waterfall and lunch in Cushendall ?

- Belfast City is only an hour away ..... the sightseeing bus tour or ´black cab´ tour are the highlight of a visit that takes all day.

- Visit the Inishowen Peninsula in Donegal for the day ..... taking in Derry City and the Wall tour.

- Play golf on any of the 10 ´links´ courses that are within a 20 mile radius ..... book now if you want to play Royal Portrush !
